On the morning of October 18, Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee coordinated with Becamex IDC Corporation and Becamex Binh Dinh JSC to organize an online conference to promote investment with Australian enterprises.

Participating in the conference at Binh Dinh bridge, there were Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee; leaders of departments, boards, and agencies in Binh Dinh; Mr. Nguyen Van Lang, General Director of Becamex Binh Dinh JSC; Mr. Nguyen The Duy,  Marketing Director of English-Speaking Markets of Becamex IDC Corporation. At Ha Noi, there was Mr. Andrew Goledzinowski, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam. At Australia bridge, there were Mr. Nguyen Tat Thanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia and more than 100 Australian businesses.

Currently, the socio-economic infrastructure of Binh Dinh province, especially transportation, commerce-service infrastructure, economic zone and industrial park infrastructure, has been focused on investing in a modern direction and is identified as one of the three breakthroughs for socio-economic development of the province in the coming time. The basic transportation system is complete and convenient to connect between regions with a full range of modes of transport. This conference is a very important and practical event for Binh Dinh, affirming the province’s determination to expand coordination and attract investment. The conference aims to step up potential promotion and attract foreign investment, including Australia, to Binh Dinh province. This is a meeting event for Australian businesses who are interested in learning about incentives from State policies as well as investment opportunities in Binh Dinh.

Over the past time, the Province People’s Committee and Becamex IDC Corporation have made efforts to coordinate in organizing the promotion of foreign investment, including Australia’s. Until now, the whole province has 6 Australian investment projects on a total area of about 180 ha with a total investment capital of more than 23.24 million USD. Notable among these are projects: Whiteleg shrimp seed production and business of Viet Uc Binh Dinh JSC (with an investment capital of 3.19 million USD);  project high-tech commercial shrimp farming in greenhouses of Viet Uc – Phu My Co., Ltd (with a capital of 16.25 million USD); aquaculture hatchery project of the Viet Uc Binh Dinh JSC branch (with a capital of 2.29 million USD), etc.

Binh Dinh province has also made a list of invitations for investment with 132 projects in the period of 2021-2025, focusing on the formation and development of production industries with strong advantages such as Agricultural, forestry, and aquatic processing; fodder; corrugated iron and plastic; consumer goods and apparel; construction materials and granite; footwear exports; waste treatment; supporting industries, etc., in which, there are 12 projects in the industrial sector; 17 projects in the infrastructure sector; 3 projects in the medical sector; 1 project in IT; 56 projects (implemented in the form of land use rights auction and bidding to select investors) in the real estate, services, and commerce sector; 5 projects in the agriculture and fishery sector; 17 projects in the processing and preservation sector; 6 projects in the wastewater collection and treatment sector; 2 projects in the clean water sector; 4 projects in the energy field; 9 projects in the market sector.

To meet the premises needs of investors, Binh Dinh province has been promoting investment in developing 9 industrial parks and 63 industrial clusters. The Province People’s Committee also focuses on developing the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone with an area of over 14,500 ha to become a driving force for the socio-economic development of the province, in which, prioritizing resources to accelerate the implementation of the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex project (in Canh Vinh commune, Van Canh district). This project is carefully planned, complying with all environmental and sustainability criteria to make a competitive advantage and provide comprehensive solutions for investors. The master plan covers an area of 1,425 hectares, belonging to the sub-zone 7 of Nhon Hoi economic zone, which includes 1,000 hectares of industrial zones jointly developed by Becamex IDC and VSIP; and 425 hectares of resident, commerce, and service areas and resettlement areas, etc., with a total capital of more than 3,333 billion VND.

This is the first model industrial park built and developed in Binh Dinh province with the expectation of making breakthroughs in attracting and developing local industries and services. Binh Dinh has committed to providing a full range of best services and facilities for investors and businesses. As a hub for trade, transshipment of goods, services, commerce, and expansion of relations for socio-economic development with domestic and foreign regions, especially South Central provinces, Central Highlands, Southern and Central provinces of Laos, and Thailand, etc., the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex project is located in a strategic location with convenient transportation to the province’s arterial route, expected to be an effective investment attraction place, contributing to developing a breakthrough step for the socioeconomic development of Binh Dinh province in general, as well as the development of the Nhon Hoi economic zone in particular.

The Chairman of the Province People’s Committee also affirmed, with the view of constantly improving and enhancing the quality of the business investment environment to strive and become an “ideal destination” for domestic and foreign investors, Binh Dinh province has been focusing on developing and perfecting the transport infrastructure system within the province as well as the infrastructure of economic zones and industrial zones. In addition, the reform of administrative procedures on investment, construction, tax, and customs and the improvement of relationships between investors, businesses, and local authorities at all levels are given top priority toward the goal of developing a professional, modern, effective, and efficient administration with the capability to make development, be integrity, and serve the people and businesses.
