On the morning of September 27, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company (JSC) held the groundbreaking ceremony of Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban and Service Complex at Canh Vinh commune, Van Canh district, Binh Dinh province. This event is considered an important turning point opening up great prospects in creating a driving force to promote industrial development in Binh Dinh province. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Truong Hoa Binh – Politburo member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister, and leaders of the Central and local governments.

With the determination to become a spreading nucleus to attract investment in association with sustainable development, to form an area closely linked with Nhon Hoi Economic Zone and neighboring industrial zones and clusters, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban and Service Complex is located in Canh Vinh commune, Van Canh district, Binh Dinh province. The master plan covers an area of 1,425 hectares, located in subdivision 07 of Nhon Hoi economic zone, which includes 1,000 hectares for the industrial park developed by the coordination of Becamex IDC and VSIP and 425 hectares for resettlement – residential, commercial – service areas.

Planned by a team of domestic and international engineers and architects to ensure green, clean, beautiful, and sustainable criteria; the industrial park will be built on the basis of synchronous and modern infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water supply and drainage, telecommunications, wastewater treatment, green parks, squares. This will be a place to gather a variety of multi-industry industries associated with diverse service constructions such as health centers, education centers, trade centers, hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, entertainment and shopping areas, cultural and public sports centers, social housing. Each subdivision will be arranged reasonably to meet the living needs and serve hundreds of thousands of people and investors in order to ensure a favorable environment for production, living, exchange, and trading in a way that saves costs and optimizes investment efficiency.

Holding the advantage of being in a strategic location for convenient transportation on the main arterial roads of the province, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban and Service Complex will become a hub for commerce, transshipment of goods, services, and trade and expand the relations for socio-economic development with regions at home and abroad, especially the provinces in South Central and Central Highlands, and the Southern and Central provinces of Laos, Thailand… The project is expected to be an effective investment attraction pole, contributing to creating a breakthrough for the socio-economic development of Binh Dinh province in general, as well as the development of the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone in particular.

Binh Duong – Binh Dinh cooperate for mutual development

Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh is not only a strategic project on socio-economic development of Binh Dinh province, but also a project in the cooperation agreement on socio-economic development of Binh Duong and Binh Dinh provinces. During the past time, Becamex IDC Corporation has always had many activities towards the common development of the two provinces. The most typical of which is the establishment of Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company to develop, manage, and operate the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex. This is vivid evidence for the cooperation between the two provinces of Binh Dinh and Binh Duong, opening a new historical page for Binh Dinh industry in the coming years on the industrial map of Vietnam.

Emphasizing that bond, Comrade Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee shared at the ceremony: “Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban and Service Complex is an important symbol for the association, cooperation, and sharing of socio-economic development experiences between the two provinces of Binh Dinh and Binh Duong in order to serve sustainable growth through the implementation of the integrated model of the Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex, which has been successfully operated in Binh Duong in recent years, bringing practical benefits to the community and promoting sustainable development of life and society.”

Implemented in a particularly difficult socio-economic area of the province, the leaders of Binh Dinh province and the Investor are still determined to carry out the project on schedule, ensure quality, and attract investors. Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee said: “It has been more than 7 years since the leaders of the two localities, Binh Dinh and Binh Duong, set the goal of building an Industrial Park invested by Becamex IDC and VSIP in Binh Dinh until the moment of implementing this Groundbreaking Ceremony. This is not a short period of time. However, to get this result, the amount of work to be done is very large which requires the high determination of leaders of Binh Duong and Binh Dinh provinces, along with great efforts of the Investor in recent years. Up to now, the infrastructure conditions are quite favorable to promote logistics development in Binh Dinh, in which, it is worth noting that the investment in infrastructure construction associated with economic zones and industrial parks in order to improve the efficiency of chain production from pre-production to direct consumers for industrial products.

This is a ripe opportunity to maximize support for the development of Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex in accordance with the Government’s policy to build “Some industrial parks and export processing zones that provide closed logistics services, helping businesses in the zone shorten the time and cost of delivering materials and products”. The great aspiration of the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Dinh province is the determination to turn Binh Dinh into a developed province in the leading group of the Central region on all three aspects of Industry – Trade and Service – Agriculture, contributing to creating jobs for people and promoting sustainable socio-economic development.”

The spreading nucleus that attracts investment

Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex is expected to attract about 2 billion USD of investment in industrial production after being put into operation, creating jobs for 120,000 – 150,000 workers in the local and surrounding areas. The project will undo economic bottlenecks for the entire region, contributing to improving the economic competitive advantage, developing technical infrastructure and social infrastructure for Binh Dinh, and contributing to the State budget of more than VND 400 billion per year. In addition to the area started at the groundbreaking event, Becamex Binh Dinh JSC continues to research opportunities to expand investment development in the locality with partners.

In the near future, Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex will become a spreading nucleus to attract investment in association with environmental protection, sustainable development, and forming an area closely linked with Nhon Hoi economic zone and neighboring industrial zones and clusters. To prepare for the Project’s operation, Binh Dinh province has put into operation the DT 638 road (also known as the Western Ring Road of Binh Dinh), to connect to the Project. This route is newly invested, with a total cost of about 1,600 billion VND, 14 km long with 6 lanes and a synchronous technical infrastructure system that is underground to meet urban road standards.

Attending and speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the efforts of leaders of provinces and the Investor: “The groundbreaking of Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex and the inauguration of the road from Nhon Hoi Economic Zone to Phu Cat airport are practical activities of Binh Dinh province and investors in realizing the dual goals of the Party and the Government of fighting the epidemic and developing the economy. I highly appreciate that Becamex Corporation decided to choose Binh Dinh to develop this Becamex VSIP project and the province’s efforts in disbursing public investment capital to complete, inaugurate, and put into use the trunk road from Nhon Hoi Economic Zone to Phu Cat airport. These two extremely important projects will play the central nucleus in promoting the strong development of local industries and services, making an important contribution to the realization of the goals set by the 20th Provincial Party Congress for the coming time.

At the same time, he emphasized the direction: “In order for our Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban, and Service Complex to be successful, I propose leaders of sectors and levels of Binh Dinh province and the people within the Project area to coordinate well with the investor to ensure implementing the project on schedule, ensuring quality, safety, efficiency, environmental protection, and social security for local people. Not only focus on building works of good quality with modern architecture but also pay attention to attracting reputable investors for projects with advanced technology content, high added value, economic efficiency, and great contribution to the budget. In particular, priority will be given to projects that are strongly involved in the global supply chain and apply achievements from the fourth industrial revolution. The successful project not only contributes to the socio-economic development of Binh Dinh but also to the Central region and to the whole country.”

With the great aspiration, the burning desire of the two provinces of Binh Duong – Binh Dinh, along with the potential of Becamex IDC and VSIP, the project promises to open a new page for Binh Dinh province, increase the local budget revenue, increase the mechanical population and reduce the population density, reduce pressure on the urban residence of Quy Nhon city, create local jobs and create a generation of skilled workers in the new development phase. This is considered a “golden” opportunity for promoting sustainable socio-economic development of Binh Dinh province in the coming time.
